|When can I board the ship?
||The boarding time for your ship and sailing date is specified on your boarding pass as selected during the "Online Check-In" process when you log into your Carnival.com account. Typically, you will need to be onboard 90 minutes prior to departure.
|How do I pay for onboard purchases?||Both Carnival and Royal Caribbean ships operate on a "cashless" system, meaning your boarding card (also known as Sail & Sign card or SeaPassCard) will be used as a charge card to make all onboard purchases. Most guests activate this account using a credit card such as American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, etc. Guests may also activate this system with traveler's checks, debit cards (with a Visa or MasterCard logo) or cash.|
|Is internet access available from the ship?||Yes, Carnival and Royal Caribbean offer wi-fi internet access for a nominal fee. Check their website for more information.|

|Am I required to use a passport to cruise?||It is highly recommended that you obtain a valid passport to travel to destinations outside of the United States. However, most cruise lines will allow you to use a certified copy of your birth certificate (may be obtained from the courthouse for a nominal fee). Either of these documents may be used with a non-expired government-issued photo I.D. for all guests 16 years of age and older. These IDs include: driver's license, driver's permit, school/student ID (ages 16/17/18) or government-issued identification card (city/state/federal).|

The cruise line assumes no responsibility for carry-on luggage.|
|Should I pack my medications and valuables in my luggage?||No. Luggages should be unlocked during screening so it is recommended that guests personally carry-on any boarding documentation (passports, Visas, I.D.), valuables, medications and any items that require special handling on/off the ship.|
|Do I have to dress up for dinner?||Most evenings, the Carnival dining rooms are cruise casual dress code but there is at least one night per cruise where guests have the opportunity to showcase more elegant attire and have photos taken at various locations throughout the ship. Formal wear is not required but this one night you'll need something nice!
On Royal Caribbean cruises, you may have 2-3 formal nights so you can dress up and have your picture taken throughout the ship! You are not required to wear a tux or evening gown, but it's definitely not a shorts or beachwear night! Dress up and have fun!
